How many portable toilets do I need for my event or job?
Count on the OSHA rules. For construction, you need 1 toilet facility per 20 workers or fewer; 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers from 20 up; and 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more, per OSHA 1926.51(c)(1). For events, the math depends on the size and how long people stay. A small backyard wedding with 50 guests renting for one day is different from a three-day festival with 500 people. What's the difference between standard, deluxe and ADA units?
A standard porta potty is the workhorse. It holds 60 to 70 gallons, stands about 92 inches tall and takes up roughly 44 by 48 inches of ground space. Deluxe units are flushing models with a toilet seat, hand soap, paper towels and a sink. They cost more but they feel like a real bathroom. ADA accessible units meet federal accessibility standards. Minimum clear door width is 32 inches per ADA Standards section 404.2.3, and at least 5 percent of units in a cluster must be accessible, never fewer than one, per ADA Standards section 213.2. How often do you service the units and what happens if we need emergency service?
We follow the industry baseline: one service visit per week for standard use. That's the ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 standard for portable sanitation. If you need more frequent pumping or cleaning because of high use, tell us upfront and we'll schedule extra visits. Toilets break and events run late. Emergency service is available because things happen on weekends and nights. Rates differ from our regular weekly pricing so call for a quote if you're in a pinch.
What permits do I need in Wilmington to place a portable toilet?

Can I rent a restroom trailer instead of a portable toilet?
Yes. Trailers are full bathrooms on wheels with running water, sinks, mirrors and flushing toilets. They're more expensive but they're worth it for upscale events or long jobsites. Restroom trailer rental costs more than standard units but less per day if you rent by the month.
What can't go in a dumpster?
Hazardous waste, batteries, paint, tires and asbestos cannot go in a dumpster. Liquid waste and medical waste are also forbidden. Ask when you call so you know what's allowed for your project.
Do portable toilets work in winter?
